Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day
Respect those who fell for our freedom
Everlasting unconditional love and you didn’t even know us
Memories we share forever, ones we did not make; yet kept in our hearts
Even if we didn’t meet you, we know you are brave because:
Maybe – given a chance, we wouldn’t have the courage you had; couldn’t, wouldn’t do what you have accomplished
Brace yourselves for the resurrection of reoccurring nightmares, for the horrors that you have seen that I could not stand
Remember for as long as there is; we live the way we do because of you
Admire the heroes, lost or not, they served our country
Never forget about the compassion and strength you had when you fought, not many have that
Canada will never be the same; you have shaped us, for you we are strong - yet not fearless, strong enough to protect the ones we love
Eternal gratitude for giving your today for our tomorrow

Despite the lack of knowledge of what we will become, what the future holds; you loved us
And wherever you are now; you are not forgotten, you are thought of often and don’t doubt
You are loved too.

Bloggers Note:
I received this poem from a co-worker whom was very proud of her daughter. I have to admit for a 13 year old child, this is very impressive and touching. I had to share this with the world, to let you all know that there is still hope for the younger generation. There are times that I worry about the world that is being left behind for those children but when I read things like this, it touching and I worry a lot less.
Remembrance Day, appreciate and love those in the past that have fought for our freedom, respect and honor them for they have given their lives so that we could have a free country. We have a free country, do not take it for granted.
Have a good day.

Just wanted to say Hello, so hello.

Hello viewers and fellow photographers!

I would like to apologize for my extended absents. I've been rather busy with life :-) I'm not complaining, it's a general statement.
You'll be glad to know that I've also been fairly busy taking more photos! With the season change around my parts, there are so many photo opportunities that present themselves, it's hard to stay indoors and on the computer blogging away.

That being said, you will be glad to hear that I will be posting more photos shortly!

To those that have continued to view my blog over time, thank you very much for your patience! You will not be disappointed.

I have a few projects underway along with a few ideas that I may or may not pursue, we will see what happens in the coming months.

Again I am so sorry for the not updating my blog as much as I should be!

Much Love Hugs and Kisses

Join - Nature Conservancy of Canada N.C.C.

Protecting our lands is probably one of the biggest ordeals to date. Considering that we are all battling the passing of numerous Omnibus bills.

I have recently decided to support the NCC. If our Government can't protect our lands, then we as a nation need to do it together.

Please help, please show your love and support.

Post Halloween Funnies

I was recently asked to do a family portrait, which is kind of nerve wrecking in one aspect, but also kind of funny and exciting at the same time. I think back to the first blog I posted and how I mentioned that I found it very difficult to become a professional photographer but mainly because it was my lack of effort that restricted me. I made a small effort at getting recognized and boom! haha like BOOM! I get a request. It's nerve wrecking because I have never tried professional portraits. I sure am hoping that it will work out, I am hoping that the session goes well and that my client is happy with the results.

Here is to hoping.

If anyone has any tips please feel free to share your thoughts by adding a comment below (please include your name so I know who to thank)

 Furthermore!

Halloween is officially over which also means that it's time to post a few fun shots (I didn't take my camera out with me because there was a high risk of it getting severely damaged)

This is me, pre-halloween bash as Freda Krueger!

We had many discussions regarding this costume, whether he was Jesus, a diehard gamer or himself in 10 years, either way we left it to the imaginations of others and he quickly became a show stopper!

 Scream!
Friendliest spider that you will ever know!
Just a few fun photos that I wanted to share. Again stayed tuned to see my blog about kids and photography!

Happy Halloween - Are ya Ready Freddy?

So in light of today's occasion, Happy Halloween!

Here I am sitting at work with my Halloween costume on. It doesn't matter how old I am, I always enjoy dressing up. Not only do I love dressing up, but I also think it's a great time of year full of photo opportunities!
So stayed tuned for my upcoming Halloween blog and to follow up I will also be blogging about children!

Happy Halloween Everyone! Be Safe, Check your Candy! and Enjoy!

Instagram and phone camera

In this day and age we all get sucked into all sorts of new social networks, social media, social this and that, we try to stay connected right? I'm not better, I will openly admit that I am and have always been addicted to Instagram, it's a very passionate love affair.
I'll explain:
I try not to shy away from any form of digital photography or any social network that will allow me to share my work (hence the new blogspot). Instagram posed a huge opportunity for me, facebook, myspace, flickster so on and so forth.
Soo my point is, I make use of my cell phone as often as my usual Canon camera.
Plus with all the great apps out there, cell phones and Instragram are just another photographers delight, its' that added cinnamon sprinkle on the cool whip (I've read books of photographers that utilize their phone just as much as their cameras because it's just handy).

I think my real point is, don't under estimate the power of your phone, it's capable of capturing truly amazing things in a moment when you don't have your trusty camera on hand.
Here are a few takes from my phone (Samsung Galaxy 1) and Instagram.
